A Boy & His Lunch {blog feature}

Sew Fierce Boutique has been so busy lately. I am thrilled to have the work and love creating all these wonderful custom orders but something has to suffer. The first thing that gets neglected is my blog. I love blogging and checking in on all my favorite but looks like until the holiday season is done, I will be not be able to post like normal. So until then, I have decided to feature some of my bento BFF's. If you liked my bento posts you will really like meeting my friends. I know you will love them and find so many inspiring fun food creations for your kids.

My first feature is A Boy & His Lunch, a beautiful family from Alabama. "What got you interested in bento? I've always believed that pretty food tastes better. I've worked in restaurants, and I always tried to make everyone's food the way I would want mine. Customers noticed! At the sandwich shop I worked at in high school, I had regular customers who would wait for me to be available to make their food because I went out of my way to make sure their food was made neatly and the toppings were spread evenly. Then I became friends with Kandice. She had this album full of cute, healthy lunches for her daughter on her Facebook. Foods I would have never THOUGHT about eating as a child. But it made sense: present healthy food in a way that makes it fun for the kid, and they're a lot more likely to eat it! "

I hope you will stop by and visit A Boy & His Lunch and see all the super yummy lunches and muffin tins she creates :)

Smarti Pants Cloth Diaper Giveaway

When my second daughter M was born I wanted to be more "natural" in everything I did for me and my family. One of the things I decided to change was how I was going to diaper my new princess. I became a cloth diapering mama. Not only buying them but I handmade a few AIO's (all in one's) and doublers myself. I loved my fluffy stash, loved the money I saved and loved knowing I was doing my small little part in the world.

Smartipants is one of these companies that knows just where I was coming from. The designer and vision behind Smartipants is also the inventor of the original one size pocket diaper. She called them Wonderoos. Yep, I had one or two of them in my stash. "As a company Smartipants is committed to making cloth diapering not only easy, but affordable. Our mission is to provide smart parents with smart solutions. We are dedicated to being 100% green, environmentally friendly, economical, and determined to keep our diapers proudly made by mothers in the United States of America! We have a facility with over 7 years of diaper making experience and look forward to changing the world one smart parent at a time."

Smartipants™ diapers are both easy to use and easy to care for. Just place the absorbent insert into either side of the sleeve, and it will stay snugly in place until you remove the diaper from your baby. Once the diaper is removed, there's no need to take out the insert -- it comes out in the wash!

All of our diapers are proudly made in the USA!

Smart for your baby: Smartipants™ diapers feature our Leak-Guard Technology, keeping moisture contained, and your baby dry. Our diapers are made with “breathable” fibers and are free from any chemicals or irritants. Smartipants™ reusable diapers are designed to grow with your baby from newborn to toddler, babies 7lbs - 35lbs.

Smart for your wallet: Instead of requiring 7,000 disposable diapers, the average baby needs only 24 reusable diapers, resulting in a net savings of nearly $3,000.00! In addition, Smartipants™ are not only the most advanced reusable diapers on the market, they are also the most affordable! Our products are all produced in our own local manufacturing facilities, and we are able to pass on those savings to you!

Smart for your environment: Every year our country contributes roughly 3.4 million tons of disposable diaper waste into landfills. Using reusable diapers not only reduces the amount of solid waste, it also reduces the amount of harmful chemicals, oils, and trees required to produce them!

How To Get It!

Smartipants are sold as a Single Diaper, the Smart Start 3 Pack and if you need extra Inserts they have a 10 pack for the best value.

Welcome SITS Friends!

Welcome lovely's to my little piece of quiet...sometimes. When Heather contacted me about being featured I couldn't believe it. I have met so many wonderful bloggers through SITS roll call and featured bloggers and I am honored to be one today.

If you've read my "about me" on the right side bar that pretty much says it all. I am married to a wonderful man who makes me laugh and gives me support and encouragement every day. We have two amazing girls. C is 4 1/2 (can not forget the 1/2 part) and M is 2 yrs. Not only do they keep me on my toes, but inspire me to no end. We are a proud military family. Hubby is a United States Marine and has been in for 18 yrs so far. I do not have time for many hobbies but when I can finally sit down I love to sew. I opened a online boutique called Sew Fierce in June of 2008. My favorite things to make are clothing for my girls, they are the best models ever.

My blog started out to be a way for people to get to know me and my label Sew Fierce. However as everything else it has taken on another life I never expected. Besides my day to day stuff I post Etsy finds, recipes and write reviews and hold giveaways for various companies large and small. I can not remember exactly how I started down this path it just kinda happened and I have so much fun with it.

Here are a few of my favorite posts. Mostly about my family with other stuff mixed in.

APFOB Featured On Six Feet Under Blog!

Tess from Six Feet Under has Featured my little 'ol blog on her Words With A Blogger Wednesday. I am very honored that she has chosen me. Although I really should have proofed my answers a little bit better. My very first sentence say's...."it's nothing spectacular like so many others......" I meant "...unlike so many others..", and of course there is misspelled words (maybe that's why I never won a spelling bee) That's what I get for jumping on the computer before I have had my coffee. But I know you lovely's know what I meant and can over look a few spelling errors :)

So if you have not had the pleasure to visit Tess's blog yet, please go stop by and take a peak. She does it all..reviews, features, photography and has a greeting card backed by Hallmark! She is a jack of all trades and such a sweetheart.

Thanks again TESS!!!
