Hello Kitty Ice Cream Social Birthday Party

This past Saturday was my C's 8th birthday party! I can not believe how fast 8 years have just flown by and even more I can not believe she is almost as tall as me already..lol. Normally I take a few months to plan and purchase items for the girls parties but this year I had only two weeks..eek! C could not decide on a theme for this year, she kept going back to the Candy Shoppe theme we did last year.

Finally she decided on a birthday smashup..Hello Kitty and Ice cream, sounds like a good mix to me! With only two weeks to plan this party, my first stop was of course Pinterest for ideas!

Sugar cones stuffed with cotton candy and formed into an ice cream top. Wrapped in cone shaped bags.

I saw a Pin about ice cream cone cupcakes which were adorable but with my time, I needed something similar. So I took the cone idea and instead of baking cupcakes in them, I stuffed glazed cake doughnut holes inside. I then piped vanilla frosting to look like a soft serve and topped with sprinkles. They were a hit!!!

From Etsy I ordered these adorable Ice Cream Party Printables from Little Apples Design. They were the perfect match in color and style for our theme.

Party setup. This is why the girls have been wanting the birthday parties at home, because we have access to the best bouncy ever!

C sun bathing, waiting for her guests.

Surprise, here comes M!

C got many presents from her wonderful friends but the one I loved the most was from my girlfriend Mandy of Little Lady Accessories. She knows how much I adore her handmade items so she made C this stunning infinity scarf and matching headband.

Apparently with all the kids running around, bouncing, swinging, screaming and high on sugar someone called the popo. Just kidding! My girlfriends husband is a State Trooper and my girls adore him. He couldn't make the party because he was on duty but being the sweetheart he is, he stopped by to say hello and wish C a happy birthday..awww.

It was a fabulous party! C had a great time and her friends had a blast as well. Could not ask for a better day then this!

Princess & Pirate 5th Birthday - Happy Birthday M!

Today M turns 5! I know I have been away from blogging. Life has been so busy the past several weeks. Hubby on AT for a few weeks in the dessert on the West Coast, I was working in my sewing room for a week straight on custom orders and while everything else was going on, I was planning this birthday party for M!

Choco dipped Queenly Cookies

Nutella Crowns.
I used our Lunch Punch for the princess set to create these fun and cute sandwiches.

M loves the fruit skewers we did for C's Seeet Shoppe birthday party, so of course we made them again. You just can not go wrong with fresh fruit on sticks..lol

Pink rice krispy Princess Wands with purple sugar sprinkles.

My girl friend Courtney wanted to make M a fabulous special cake. She spent two days baking and decorating. On the car ride over the morning of the party (mind you we live on a dirt road), the tower shifted. We fixed it the best we could with skewers and some store bought frosting. I felt so bad because she make the whole thing from scratch. Three chocolate cake layers with homemade strawberry buttercream filling and a buttercream frosting. I think it still looked fabulous and the taste was amazing!!!

For the princess of the party I stayed up the night before until 2am making fluffy shiny tulle tutu's.
They were a hit!

For the boys I made Pirate eye patches and head scarves. I found the tutorial for the eye patch from Under the Sycamore. I didn't have black headbands like she used, but I did have black 1/4" elastic and it worked great!

I was a another fun birthday. We had the giant bouncy house up which the kids spent most of the party in. The adults enjoyed an array of appetizers from the French Onion Soup Stuffed Mushrooms, Loaded Baked Potato Dip, Mini Caprese Bites, fresh veggies with garlic hummus, garlic stuffed olives. After all that delicious food, we BBQ'd, enjoyed a few cocktails and had fun chatting and spending time with our amazing friends.

Good friends and good food...sometimes I think it doesn't get any better.

Sweet Shoppe 7th Birthday Party

I have been away from my blog for a week and this is why! C turned 7 and we had a big fabulous party for her this past weekend. Last year we had just moved to PA and knew no one so she didn't get a party. This year with her having friends from school and our neighborhood friends, I knew I could make up for last year and go all out for her!

Her birthday invitations. The theme and colors were perfect for our party!

C and I talked about what she wanted and we settled on a "Sweet Shoppe" theme and the colors of hot pink, aqua and lime green. For her party I made this big twirly layered tulle skirt. Of course in the theme colors.

A new local friend of mine owns Little Lady Accessory. A super sweet Etsy shop full of amazing head bands, mini top hats and more. Her work is gorgeous! While making C's skirt I knew I wanted her to do a custom head band to match. Using the same fabric and tulle from the skirt, she made this stunning piece for her finished with feathers and more. I gave her no direction with what I wanted because I knew what ever she came up with would be fabulous, and I was not disappointed!

Tulle, tulle and more tulle....

This simply decorated yet adorable sign greeted our guests.

This is the birthday spread. I planned this out for weeks and was worried that the grand idea I had in my head would not be the same in real life. Well....it turned out even better than my vision!

Fruit flavored Twizzlers, Marshmallow poles, candy sticks, Dum Dum suckers, Smarties, rainbow fruit skewers, chocolate dipped mint Oreo's.

Rainbow fruit skewers, dipped Oreo's and strawberry poke sprinkle cupcakes with pink bubblegum frosting or aqua cotton candy frosting.

Grosgrain ribbon decorates mason jars to hold the silverware.

Jeweled jelly jars with cupcake liners for lids and retro paper straws. The kids LOVED these and even asked to take them home. Of course I said yes!

Wrapped juice boxes and water...so cute!.

Chocolate dipped giant heart marshmallows and button candy.

Cupcake crazy straws, pixie sticks dipped marshmallows and button candy

C's picture front and center for her party and surrounded by sweet treats.

Chevron gift bags. Before the kiddos left the party they choose a bag and filled it with what ever candy and/or chocolate dipped treat they wanted. They also got to choose a cupcake crazy straw and an ice cream flavored lip balm (not shown) to complete the fun gift bag.

To help with the sugar high we had a huge bounce house with a fast slide to keep them busy. They spent all day in that thing and only came out to grab more sweets. For the adults we enjoyed a delicious bbq, and many amazing appetizers. Everyone had a blast and at the end of the night C comes to me to thank me for "the best birthday party in the whole world". It melted my heart to see how happy she was, I can not believe she is 7 already. Time fly's!
