I'm Over It

Thanks you everyone for your kind and understand comments about my problem. You are all right, I will not make my blog private, nor will I continue to think about it. I am over it. I was honest, I said what I felt and what I thought and now I am going back to being happy me. I truely believe in the saying "what comes around goes around", and I am not one who likes to put negative energy out into the world, so I am clearing my soul. I have so many positives in my life. The love of my family, support of my husband, my beautiful girls, my awesome friends online and off, and my buisness which gives me the outlet to to what I love to do. I think those all all the best positives in my life.

I know a lot of you asked me to "out" her. My dark side screams "do it!", but I can't. I feel like that would be something she would do, and I do not want to go to that level. Plus I am trying to build a good reputation and a good honest business and I don't want that negative aspect being seen of me. However if you are wondering if she is "following" you can contact me and I will say yes or no.

As of this morning I have a Copy Right Infringement Lawyer, so if any more written words are stolen from me, she will be hearing from my lawyer. Unfortunately I can not do anything about her using the same web host, copying the way my site is laid out, copying my categories and making the same products as me (that are not copy righted by myself) or even joining all the same blogging sites I have been apart of for months.

So on to bigger and better things. The high road is very sunny and beautiful and that is the path I am taking. So this post and the original post will be bumped down so I can bring back to the top my Giveaway. Plus I have been "tagged" by Lisa from Pink in The House Of Blue so I need to get started on that, thanks Lisa :)

Thanks again everyone for your support!

Need Help From My Awesome Friends..PLEASE!

Should I or shouldn't I. That is the question....and I NEED HELP!

I have been struggling with making the decision to make my blog private or not. So I am asking my lovely readers and followers to give me your opinions. I really do not want to go private. I want someone to say "hey what is that site about" and be able to click and here I am. Not feel put off by having to ask to be "approved" to visit me.

The reason I am having this dilemma is that I have a for lack of a better word a "stalker". This person in the past has not only taken my idea to open a shop but has copied word for word things from my website on to hers. It does not stop with just me, she has taken pictures, business polices, ect.. word for word from others Sites and Etsy's Stores and pastes them to her own website and then copyrights the stolen material as her own.

I work so hard on my blog and my biz website and all the sleepless nights researching, networking, and chatting with others just so she can copy me? I chuckle to myself sometimes when I see she makes the SAME outfit I did just months before or posts something almost word for word for a giveaway that I had posted days earlier. I think it is almost sad. Sad that someone is building on the backs of others hard work. Sad that someone can not do the work themselves.

I usually say "whatever" when I see she has done the above things, but today I got an email from a friend who said I should checkout her website. OMG! Not only has she switched to using the same web provider as me, but her layout, her categories, even down to buttons on her site is just like my website. Practically identical in more ways than not.

It is one thing to see something on a site your visiting and say "oh snap that is cute, I want that", we all do it...that's one of the cool things about networking and blogging...but I don't claim to anyone who will listen that it was my idea...or that I just happen to come across it when I know damn well where I saw it.

I know she checks this site, she has since I started the blog...and I waited for the day she would start a blog and low and behold she did...it obviously was not a surprise to me or others who know her and what she has done. Now she is joining the same blogger groups, and is following some of you! She see's all the lovely comments you all leave about my blog and website and she wants...needs.. that attention so she is copying me at every turn.

Before you ask, yes I know this person, we used to be friends. That ended when I got tired of uncovering her lies. Lying to a room off mommies that she made the outfit her daughter was waring because mine and my girlfriends kids were getting attention because we did actually make ours. Lying when she said she designed the logo for her website and biz cards all by herself, when come to find out she copied it from Vista Print, ect..ect..ect. Then to top it off to find out she talked smack about me when I was not around.

My question is...When does the phrase "Imitation is the sheerest form of flattery" run a little thin. When is it not flattery anymore, but just plain rude?

Sorry this has been a little longer of a post than I anticipated. Obviously it was things I needed to say, but I really hope it did not come off as petty or snotty because if you have read my blogs in the past, you'll know that was not my intent.

So back to the original question...what would you do? What would you do it you found out someone was hot on your tail copying almost everything you did and profiting from not only your hard work but others?

My Rant - Web Stealing

Why do people feel the need to take from others? Why do others try to build their lives, business, or websites off of others ideas, thoughts and hard work? I'm so sick of seeing people STEAL pictures, sentences, descriptions and sometimes whole paragraphs from other peoples websites just to build there's up and then take full credit as if it was all them!

I have worked very hard and done a lot of research to build my site and it pisses me off when I see my ideas, wording of specific things or even something as stupid as a promo picture taken straight from my site. Some say to be "flattered" that someone else likes my ideas or site enough to copy me, but when you see a website site that is based off of 5 or 6 different websites...come on now.

What amazes me even more is that people don't think anyone will notice. We all are in the same "arena" for what we make and sell, how does someone not think that other people are going to notice you stole their product picture, full descriptions, or personal business ideas. Obviously this rant comes on the heals of being notified about a few sites. What does my hubby say..."when you get the emails about this, don't go to the site, leave it alone".....and here I thought my hubby knew me better than that...haha

Now take into mind that this rant has nothing to do with product. It's not like I can say anything I make is mine and only my original idea, (although someday I do hope to design my own line of girl clothes).....but I do hand make everything myself and am very proud of each piece and every outfit and more importantly I give credit where credit is due. Just don't go telling people you made an outfit when you didn't. People who do clothing and construction can tell the difference.

That is my rant, not how I wanted to start my weekend, but it is now done with. I don't do it much, it usually takes a lot to get me going, but if you have a rant of your own or something you just need to get off your chest please feel free to post it here, i'm sure we have all been there before.
