Years ago before kids and when I actually had time, I used to scrapbook. I bought everything. The paper, the scissors, the templates with cutters, the pens, stickers, sticky tape squares...everything! Hundreds of dollars in product. Then the girls came and it was just impossible.
There was no way I could sit in front of the tv with all my product and pictures spread out and have a toddler running around through it. So I boxed up all my stuff and still to this day it sits. Every time I pass the box of scrapbooking product or backup pictures of my girls, I feel guilty. Guilty that months and then years go by and all I have is a external drive full of pictures. When my girls are older what do I want to pass on to them? A hard drive full of unorganized pictures, or an album I so lovingly created and printed just for them?
When I first started blogging I was introduced to
digital scrapbooking. I was amazed at how awesome the pages looked but assumed it was too over my head, too complicated or that I just didn't have the time. I am here to say I was terribly wrong on all accounts!
I figured it was going to take me all night to understand how to use the software and the
digital scrapbooking kits, but once again I was wrong. I decided to watch the e
asy tutorial on getting started (which I normally never do) and literally in just a few minutes I had this beautiful page. I was so giddy and proud of myself, I stayed up almost all night creating pages for our family album. Be warned though, when you start using
MyMemories scrapbooking software, you will be hooked! I have had mine since Sept and I am still as excited today when I finish a page as I was the very first day.

One of the best parts of
MyMemories is that I can do it quick and easy on my computer. Everything is self contained. No massive box full of papers, scissors, stickers, ect. And lets face it, how much money will I save not having to purchase more of that stuff when I run out. Once you buy a
scrapbooking kit (some for less than what you'd pay for scrapbooking paper at Michael's), you use it again and again! It never runs out!
