The other day I saw a friend of mine mention the "sock bun" on her facebook page. What is this sock bun thing she speaks of? So I asked about it and she told me she found it on what else....Pinterest (love that site). So I went and researched...wow! What a fun and very creative idea. Making a perfect hair bun with a sock! I knew this would be perfect for M as she has a lion's mane of curly and most times, frizzy hair. Needless to say it was wicked easy and so adorable on her and she loved it as well.
Funny side note. I showed my hubby when he came home this awesome new creative hair style and he said, "now I know how the female Marines do their hair! I always wondered how they got the bun so perfect". So this is what my hubby spends his work day wondering....how the female Marines have perfect hair...lol

how beautiful! what's the link for the pin that you saw it on so I can see how to do it?
I saw this on Pinterest, too, as a method of getting curls (at http://pinterest.com/pin/72128031501849196/). I tried it last night, but I don't think I got it tight enough, so it fell out in my sleep and I just have a few waves. I'll try it again, though :)
My hair is so thin, using a sock for the bun was too much. I use one of those hair scruchie things and it works just as well. Unfortunately the sock bun curls also didn't work for me as my hair just frizzed.
It makes a great and easy bun that stays put with no pins. I love it. There's tons of youtube videos as well.
So funny that you tried this out on your daughter! I have been wanting to try it but thought it might be hard to do on myself! I watched a youtube video to get some extra pointers, I guess I'll just have to give it a try! Your daughter is beautiful!!!
Very pretty! I'll have to remember this for when my daughter's hair get a bit thicker :)
I checked out youtube as well when I discovered this a few months ago. Awesome photos. :)
it looks adorable! i'm going to give it a try on my hair soon, too. =)
wow she's such a cutie & I'm going to have to try this as well, thanks for sharing :)
