Fun With Our Food After The Pain {bento}

This week has been a doosy. Last week C stayed home all week with a cold and on Friday she woke in excessive pain and had to rush her to the doctor on base. She's couldn't move, stand or walk. Every muscle twitch in her neck made her scream out. Her doctor was worried and called the base paramedics/EMT's to come transport her via ambulance to Childrens Hospital. Poor thing was so scared while the MP's and Paramedics surrounded her. They had to put a C Collar on her and strap her to a back board. M was flipping out hearing C cry and so was I.

C at Childrens Hosp.

Long story short she had a Cervical Strain and was sent home with a padded C Collar and to rest. The base paramedics were awesome and gave her this adorable big blue bear to cuddle with in the ambulance.

She saw her doctor on Monday and was given the thumbs up to return back to school on Tuesday. She was excited and so was I.

Ciera asked me to start making her "fun" lunches like her Muffin Tin Monday lunches. She knows all about all the cool Bento stuff I bought so she has already been planning out her next several lunches.

Yesterday she wanted Bear sandwiches so we went with a zoo type of theme. Teddy Bear sandwiches, animal crackers and zebra apples. It's nothing cool and elaborate like the bento's I see on the blogs I follow, but hey I'm learning :)

Today she wanted Bunnies....

So we did bunny sandwiches with bunny and star apples and flower/pinwheel carrots. The carrots didn't come out as awesome as I hoped, but for winging it I think it was cute. Totally need to get a book on food sculpting and a better paring knife...lol

So there you have it, this weeks Bento. Come back on Monday to see what we do for Muffin Tin Monday. The theme will be Seeds, Plants and Flowers, a continuation of the Springtime Mini Series.

Shout to Easy Lunchboxes. We use their food containers for your lunches and picnics, they rock!

Poor baby! I hope that she is recovering quickly.

Those lunches are just too adorable. I am going to have to start being more creative with Monkey's lunches. Then maybe she would actually eat them!
