The Lunar Antics Presents Book Review

One of my favorite memories growing up was waiting for Sunday because that is when the comic strips came. Saturday was for morning cartoons and Sunday was for Garfield, Doonesbury, Luann, Fox Trot, Opus and my favorite ...Bloom County with Bill The Cat. Then on Monday morning you would sit with your friends at school and laugh about what we read the day before. Honestly now, I could not tell you the last time I opened up a Sunday paper for more than just the coupons. I have grown up and by doing so grown out of the Sunday comics which I now realize is a shame. I could be using that paper to sit down with my girls and introduce them to the world of reading comics and start our own Sunday memories.

Lucky for me I received a wonderful invitation, to review a comic strip style book. I was contacted by Robert Walters the author of "The Lunar Antics Presents: Boy, I'd Hate To Be Made Of That Stuff". This book is like reading the Sunday comic strips minus the black ink left on your fingers when your done. In the beginning you are introduced to four aliens and one earthling. The author in my opinion has succeeded in poking fun of our society through the eyes of these oddly drawn aliens. This could be exactly how visiting aliens might see us. From our over use of credit cards and need for approval to politics and just human nature in general. You will find your self laughing and saying "I totally get that".

"The Lunar Antics Presents is a collection of newspaper-style cartoons about moon inhabitants who are the ultimate outsiders. But it's not about them, it's about us. Parents are concerned about what is in the media and are working hard to shield their children from inappropriate material. The Lunar Antics is a great solution to this problem. The Lunar Antics is suitable for all ages-something that is harder and harder to find these days. The kids enjoy these them; adults see more. I think you will find this book thoughtful and fun. I believe comic strips are great for kids developing a love for reading. The most successful people I know were avid comic strip readers as children."

How to get your own? This book just published Jan 18th and is only available online HERE for $17.95. You can even order a signed copy for new extra charge! If your a comic strip fan or even a collector I think you will enjoy everything this book has to offer.

DISCLAIMER: I was given the opportunity by Laconil Publishing to review the book free of charge. The opinions given in the above post are mine and mine alone and are unbiased.

Hi Stephanie..OMGOSH...so many memories just came flooding back!! I use to love to sit and read the comics. I can even remember taking my silly putty and pushing down on the newsprint so I could change the looks of the characters. Garfield really could get bigger after eating his lasagna...LOL!! (hummmm, guess I have always loved playing with clay of some sort)

Thank you for the memory!!

Hugs,
Regi
