Tropical Traditions Review & Giveaway

Tropical Traditions is a company started by a husband and wife team Brian and Marianita Shilhavy. Marianita who grew up on a coconut farm in the Philippines, was asked by her husband if there was a natural way get the oil form the coconuts so they would not have to by the refined oil. She recalled to him the "older generations" method. So they decided to try it for themselves and their family. Through this one inquiry and a desire for pure, natural coconut oil they have turned that into a wonderful business known as Tropical Traditions.

My grandmother has been a very earthy woman even before I was born. I remember going to the "health food" stores back in the very early 80's with her when it was just a room in someones basement way before it became commercialized and went brick and mortar. She always passes on wonderful tips about natural and homeopathic products or uses. Her motto is "if I can't eat it, it does not belong on my body". Which is why now in her mid 60's you could look at her and never guess she is a grandmother.

She has told me for years about the uses and properties of coconut oil. As a matter of fact a few months ago M had a diaper rash and she brought over some oil and told me to use it on M's bum instead of the creams. I used it that night and was amazed the next day how the rash was just gone!

This is why I was excited to work with Tropical Traditions. Want to know what's on the ingredient label? 100% Pure Coconut Oil. That is it! Some other oils claim to be "natural" or "pure", but if you read the label you find other hidden junk. Not the case from Tropical Traditions, their Gold Label means you are buying the best oil they have to offer which is still made my hand, not buy machines pass producing, and by buying from them you are helping the families in the rural areas of the Philippines where the coconuts grow.

Once I received my jar of Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil I decided I was going to go full force for this review. With my jar I also received a book called "Virgin Coconut Oil, How it has changed people's lives and how it can change yours". Besides having wonderful information about the process of how they make the oil, I really liked the over 100 personal stories and testimonials from repeat customers of Tropical Traditions.

Tropical Traditions is not just Virgin Coconut Oil. They also have a Skin Care Line, Household Cleaning Supplies, Supplements, Pet Products, Organic Food and so much more!

I could probably go on for another page or two about my experiences thus far with Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil. Let's just say I am now a new lifetime client and can not wait to try some of their other products especially the skin care line. Please remember the claims above are my personal experiences and may very from person to person.

Wow! What a thorough review! Good job!

What did I learn after looking at the FAQs? That some people could be allergic to whole coconut, and not be allergic to coconut oil(because coconut oil does not contain protein!) INTERESTING!

Would love to try the stuff!

I learned that for those whose body is used to a low-fat diet regimen, the most common reaction to the coconut oil is diarrhea. Just decrease the dose until reaction goes away and slowly work up to 3.5 Tbspn.
