The other night for dinner I made onions rings. Now when I say "for dinner", I mean just that.. I didn't make anything else. PMS cravings here I come...lol Now as much as I LOVE onion rings I have never made them. I had a big bag of sweet onions in my pantry and thought why not give it a go.
So I busted out the Buttermilk Pancake batter, figured it would be a good base and grabbed the Panko Bread Crumbs too. I made half the batch with just the pancake batter and the other half with the batter and then covered in Panko. They were both amazingly delish but have to say I love the crunchy texture of the Panko ones more. Hubby was just too thrilled to be the taste tester why I cooked, the girls however...not so much. Oh well, they'll learn...lol

Those look amazing. I've never made onion rings, but I've frequently done caramelized onions for pizza and such.
YUM! Now I'm craving onion rings...
I'm going to give fried pickels a try soon. Your onion rings have given me confidence :)
Those onion rings look absolutely delish!
My mouth is watering, they looks so good. Wow!
I think they look great!! Yum!
Those look so good. I made some Weight Watchers friendly ones last week -- will have to try the buttermilk pancake way next time.
Mmm these look delicious, I haven't had onion rings in ages since I'm gluten-free and aren't much for deep frying...my dad is all over deep frying though, I may have to try and get him to make me some!

Yummy! I've used panko bread crumbs on chicken nuggets, but now I'll have to make some onion rings like yours - they look amazing!!
