Enjoy The Silence {photography}

It has been awhile since I have picked up my Nikon. I put full blame on my husband since we got me an iPhone for Christmas..lol Instagram is just so fun and I love the instant connection to posting pictures to my Facebook. However Saturday morning we woke to snow and as I looked out the window towards the back of the property, I was inspired to finally pick up my camera again.

The undisturbed snow, the calm cool silence. The tree's were still, no little creatures scurrying about. It was like the world stopped in that moment and it was beautiful.

Let It Snow!

Yesterday we woke to a little over 6 inches of pure white power!
It is the first snow of the season so of course the girls were begging us to go out.

We went sledding and joked around.

Hubby had to test out the snow covered trampoline.

Snow man building. M decided to be the snow collector

Hubby thought it would be fun to dump snow on C.

And in true fashion, she retaliated. Like father, like daughter.

This is a view down our road.

We have a beautiful forest with a babbling stream at the back of our property.
So we decided it was time to go hiking.

Setting my trap for C...

...it worked! Snow everywhere...lol

The girls exhausted after our hike. After they rested we all came inside for some hot cocoa and movie time! Life is pretty sweet.

Happy Halloween Monster High Style

The girls this year wanted to be their favorite Monster High dolls. C is Clawdeen Wolf and M is Draculaura. I thought about making their costumes this year but just ran out of time. They were not disappointed at all!

My little blond girls looks pretty fabulous are a brunette..lol

M loved her black and pink wig, she almost doesn't look like herself. Due to Sandy coming through and taking power all over NEPA Halloween was cancelled for most of the area. So we dressed the girls and went to three of our neighbors homes. That was enough, they still got the "Halloween feel" and got some candy..score!

What did you kids dress as this year?

Back To School {photography}

M had a booking with Little Lady Accessories to model a new back to school headband "Kindergarten Rocks".  Mandy of LLA is a local and we have had so much fun getting to know her and her kiddos.

I knew I wanted to do it at sunset and I knew just where. Low and behold while talking to Mandy and telling her about this old farm I would love to shoot at, she tells me that is her family farm...where she grew up!  Shut the front door!

So the girls and I met her over there, picked out the best spot and let M just do her thing. I LOVE how these shots turned out and am so excited to shoot there again soon!

Happy 4th Of July & A Holiday Sale! {photography}

Last week I worked on these outfits for my girls for the 4th of July. The corset tops were last minute additions. I haven't made them in years but are they not just the perfect match for the tutu's!

The amazing headbands are from Little Lady Accessories! I totally contacted her last minute and asked if she could whip me up two headbands,  similar but different and I also wanted M's to be a bit smaller. In 24 hours she had them both made and ready for pickup. I LOVE Mandy! She is amazing, super sweet and so are her creations!

It was a fun morning of shooting at our local State Park. With the rising temps lately I was worried I would have two hot and cranky girls on my hands. Instead the girls were total troopers and had fun.

Now for the fun part of this post! Starting TODAY until June 6th (am) I am offering 40% off your purchase to Sew Fierce Boutique!! Last night I just added a few new summer dresses perfect for this heat wave we've been having! so stop by and take a peak....you might just finding something perfect for your princess :)

Sweet Shoppe 7th Birthday Party

I have been away from my blog for a week and this is why! C turned 7 and we had a big fabulous party for her this past weekend. Last year we had just moved to PA and knew no one so she didn't get a party. This year with her having friends from school and our neighborhood friends, I knew I could make up for last year and go all out for her!

Her birthday invitations. The theme and colors were perfect for our party!

C and I talked about what she wanted and we settled on a "Sweet Shoppe" theme and the colors of hot pink, aqua and lime green. For her party I made this big twirly layered tulle skirt. Of course in the theme colors.

A new local friend of mine owns Little Lady Accessory. A super sweet Etsy shop full of amazing head bands, mini top hats and more. Her work is gorgeous! While making C's skirt I knew I wanted her to do a custom head band to match. Using the same fabric and tulle from the skirt, she made this stunning piece for her finished with feathers and more. I gave her no direction with what I wanted because I knew what ever she came up with would be fabulous, and I was not disappointed!

Tulle, tulle and more tulle....

This simply decorated yet adorable sign greeted our guests.

This is the birthday spread. I planned this out for weeks and was worried that the grand idea I had in my head would not be the same in real life. Well....it turned out even better than my vision!

Fruit flavored Twizzlers, Marshmallow poles, candy sticks, Dum Dum suckers, Smarties, rainbow fruit skewers, chocolate dipped mint Oreo's.

Rainbow fruit skewers, dipped Oreo's and strawberry poke sprinkle cupcakes with pink bubblegum frosting or aqua cotton candy frosting.

Grosgrain ribbon decorates mason jars to hold the silverware.

Jeweled jelly jars with cupcake liners for lids and retro paper straws. The kids LOVED these and even asked to take them home. Of course I said yes!

Wrapped juice boxes and water...so cute!.

Chocolate dipped giant heart marshmallows and button candy.

Cupcake crazy straws, pixie sticks dipped marshmallows and button candy

C's picture front and center for her party and surrounded by sweet treats.

Chevron gift bags. Before the kiddos left the party they choose a bag and filled it with what ever candy and/or chocolate dipped treat they wanted. They also got to choose a cupcake crazy straw and an ice cream flavored lip balm (not shown) to complete the fun gift bag.

To help with the sugar high we had a huge bounce house with a fast slide to keep them busy. They spent all day in that thing and only came out to grab more sweets. For the adults we enjoyed a delicious bbq, and many amazing appetizers. Everyone had a blast and at the end of the night C comes to me to thank me for "the best birthday party in the whole world". It melted my heart to see how happy she was, I can not believe she is 7 already. Time fly's!
