I have been away from my blog for a week and this is why! C turned 7 and we had a big fabulous party for her this past weekend. Last year we had just moved to PA and knew no one so she didn't get a party. This year with her having friends from school and our neighborhood friends, I knew I could make up for last year and go all out for her!
Her birthday invitations. The theme and colors were perfect for our party!
C and I talked about what she wanted and we settled on a "Sweet Shoppe" theme and the colors of hot pink, aqua and lime green. For her party I made this big twirly layered tulle skirt. Of course in the theme colors.
A new local friend of mine owns
Little Lady Accessory. A super sweet Etsy shop full of amazing head bands, mini top hats and more. Her work is gorgeous! While making C's skirt I knew I wanted her to do a custom head band to match. Using the same fabric and tulle from the skirt, she made this stunning piece for her finished with feathers and more. I gave her no direction with what I wanted because I knew what ever she came up with would be fabulous, and I was not disappointed!
Tulle, tulle and more tulle....
This simply decorated yet adorable sign greeted our guests.
This is the birthday spread. I planned this out for weeks and was worried that the grand idea I had in my head would not be the same in real life. Well....it turned out even better than my vision!
Fruit flavored Twizzlers, Marshmallow poles, candy sticks, Dum Dum suckers, Smarties, rainbow fruit skewers, chocolate dipped mint Oreo's.
Rainbow fruit skewers, dipped Oreo's and strawberry poke sprinkle cupcakes with pink bubblegum frosting or aqua cotton candy frosting.
Grosgrain ribbon decorates mason jars to hold the silverware.
Jeweled jelly jars with cupcake liners for lids and retro paper straws. The kids LOVED these and even asked to take them home. Of course I said yes!
Wrapped juice boxes and water...so cute!.
Chocolate dipped giant heart marshmallows and button candy.
Cupcake crazy straws, pixie sticks dipped marshmallows and button candy
C's picture front and center for her party and surrounded by sweet treats.
Chevron gift bags. Before the kiddos left the party they choose a bag and filled it with what ever candy and/or chocolate dipped treat they wanted. They also got to choose a cupcake crazy straw and an ice cream flavored lip balm (not shown) to complete the fun gift bag.
To help with the sugar high we had a huge bounce house with a fast slide to keep them busy. They spent all day in that thing and only came out to grab more sweets. For the adults we enjoyed a delicious bbq, and many amazing appetizers. Everyone had a blast and at the end of the night C comes to me to thank me for "the best birthday party in the whole world". It melted my heart to see how happy she was, I can not believe she is 7 already. Time fly's!
