I love breakfast sami's but do not make them often. In my mind they take to long to make (they really don't) and I usually just grab something quicker and easier. The other morning after a weird craving (nope not preggers) I found myself pulling out all the stuff for a breakfast sami...let's run with it I thought.
It was heaven, just the right thing to take care of that weird craving and fill up my belly...and maybe help me along to an early coronary but whatever, you only live once! This sami was made with Trader Joe's Multigrain Sourdough with Sunflower and Sesame Seeds (this is my most favorite bread). Inside is 2 eggs fried (seasoned with salt and pepper), cheddar cheese and bacon. After assembling the sami I then buttered the outside and threw it in a hot skillet. I cooked it just like a grilled sami and when the cheese as melted and both sides golden brown, it was ready to eat! And eat I did. The sharpness of the cheddar and salty bacon is a delicious match with the tang of the sourdough. Yumm!

I have a panini now ... I should try more of these for breakfast. Thanks for the idea!
I'm soo going to try these!
That sounds SO good! We seem to eat breakfast sami's for dinner, never for breakfast. I'll have to look for that bread, but I think your TJ has a better selection than ours. You mentioned a salad dressing from their once and I haven't been able to find it.
