I'm officially a cheesy cheese ball. Head over to one of my fav blogs Carma Sez for Cheese Ball Tuesday! I had so much fun taking pictures with the barrel of UTZ cheese balls and so did my girls. The tourists must have thought we were a little loco as they watched us running around taking pics trying to find the best place to showcase everything we wanted to. The girls had been dying to eat them since I brought them home. They waited 3 days...that's a record for them I think.
The pictures are on top of Mt Soledad. Anyone from this area knows it well. It is the best place to get a look at all of San Diego with a beautiful 360 degree view. My hubby growing up in Mission Beach used to go up there often with his buddies. This was when it was just a cross and stairs. Now it is a awesome Memorial for Military Veterans. I have already planned to get Traves his plaque added when he retires form the Marines.
We were married in 2004 next to the cross in a surprise (to me) ceremony. My hubby had planned it. As any other normal day we walked up to the top of the cross to take in the view. On the way up the stairs I see him smirking and I asked what his problem was. When we reached the top he knelt down and asked me to marry him. My first response was "aren't we already doing that in June?" (We were right in the middle of planning our big wedding), he said yes but he wanted to marry me today, just him and I, no craziness, something special between the two of us. As I looked around I saw our friend Cruzer and the pastor waiting for us. So In March we were married on top of Mt Soledad my most favorite place in San Diego. We still had the big wedding in June and it was perfect, but I will forever tell the story of how my husband surprised me on our wedding day.

What a beautiful wedding story! I wish I had such a private ceremony...that is my dream for our tenth anniversary of marriage.

Love the pics of you and the girls! You should post your pictures here too! By the way - I would recommend getting Traves a plaque vs. a plague. lol
